We finally made it out this morning for our annual strawberry picking. A combination of crazy spring weather and an absolutely insane level of busyness the month of May almost caused strawberry picking to be pushed to the wayside. Almost. We went a little lighter this year, only picking about 4.5 pounds of berries. The weather cooperated beautifully and we had a great time out there. After finishing our picking, we went for a hayride and then played in the play area the farm had set up. Strawberry season may be my favorite berry season of them all!

Headwear
Owen has an affinity for headwear. He loves to wear his baseball hat when we go out. He's been known to wear a paper crown when we go out to run errands. Yesterday, at church, they had a discussion about farmers and planting seeds. Each child was given a bandanna to wear. Owen ended up with his on his head like a do-rag. So...when he wanted to wear it again this morning, it was just natural to give him a do-rag again. Enjoy!

Last Day
Today was the last day of preschool for both boys. We love our preschool so much and have been so grateful to have them enrolled there. They have learned so much and it's been fun to hear them come home singing the songs they've been learning. The teachers love on all the kids so much and have definitely shown them Jesus throughout the entire year. What a blessing to be part of WEPC Community Preschool!
Today was also preschool graduation for Brennan, complete with a special ceremony to send these big kids off to kindergarten in the fall.

Flowers
One thing I really like about our house is the window boxes just outside our living room and bathroom windows. Last year, I never got around to planting them and they just looked sad and lonely all spring and summer. This year, we freshened the boxes up and got them planted. Now seeing the flowers right outside the windows makes me happy.
We also spent part of last evening having a picnic and planting flowers at the community garden on our church's property. It was a great time of fellowship and the boys loved helping out, particularly watering the newly planted flowers!
(Brennan chose the purple flowers and Owen picked out the pink ones)

A Child's Perspective
For Mother's Day at preschool, they had each child complete this basic questionnaire. I got such a kick out of Brennan's answers that I needed to share. It was funny to see his perspective on these things!
